Koori
(japanese > ice)
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Gijinka: Metagross
Alliance: Fire Nation
Rank:
Koori has blue hair, frosty pale skin, and eyes as heavy and red as blood. But they burn like stars and stare with the glassy gaze of a man long resigned to a death that will never end till its over. A living death. The sort you want to run from but can't escape. Koori is quiet and reserved. He speaks softly and hardly ever, so when he does finally talk, people usually listen. He can hold his own in any fight, having enough resolve and physical strength to face any challenge, though not necessarily beat any challenge. He is the quiet one that you need to look out for. He sits and plots in the darkness, left to his own mad devices to figure things out. Koori has always been dark and cold as ice, a full opposite of his Fire Nation heritage. From a time he hates to remember, so long ago, he witnessed tragedy. He watched pirates brutally rape and murder his mother and older sister. He was only three. The pirates sold took him with and sold him to a man who said he loved science. Koori called it torture. When Koori was fourteen, he turned on the man and fled. In the darkness and soaked in blood, Koori was reborn: wretched, broken, but reborn. He loathed a life of slavery and vowed never to let anyone dominate his life again. He wandered to the Fire Nation and found a purpose there. But he hates himself. He hates it all. He wants to be free but feels he can never escape. Ever.

Shin
(korean > faith, belief, trust)
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Gijinka Species: Charizard
Alliance: Master
Rank: Bounty Hunter
Kin: Altan (brother)
Hair the color of rusted blades. Eyes as calm as a storm over the sea. He has fair skin with an assortment of hideous scars on his back and torso: whip marks. He is missing his left arm. Hot-headed in conversation. Level-headed and cool as tempered steel when engaged in combat. Shin leaves little to the imagination when you say he had a tough life. One look at him proves that well enough. He tends not to speak of it, feeling it to be a private matter of his own. He and his older brother were sold as children to slavers when his parents could no longer afford to keep them. He was very small, so he barely remembers the family he came from, but he remembers hoping and praying that they would come for him and rescue Altan and him from their predicament. He really believed they would, until he was separated from his brother a month later. Altan had been sold, but Shin was not considered worth much. So he was kept by the slavers and taught basic tasks. He kept on with his fool hopes and dreams, so they beat it out of him. He kept quiet about his thoughts, but he never lost heart. When he was nine, Shin was sent to the galleys of the Fire Nation's navy. One of the ships had run afoul and was in desperate need of hands. Hands that could do work, regardless of whom they belonged to or how old they were. Shin was one of several boys on the ship who worked. They had to shovel coal into the furnaces all day then do other chores around the ship for all of the night, which depending on the chores, was better than furnace duty. For several months this dragged on, and it seemed that almost everyday, Shin did something wrong that earned him a beating. Hence his scars. As for his arm, he will not say. Ever say. In fact, after the Fire Nation vessel he crewed was considered lost in Earth Kingdom waters when he was twelve, the history of what happened to the crew is unknown. When the boys were finally reunited, nearly ten years since they were separated, they barely recognized each other. They still tend to travel apart. It is not common to see the brothers together. Primarily since both of them are still slaves. Shin's master is a bounty hunter. He is being trained in the art, but still is their slave.

Altan
(mongol > red rising sun, red dawn)
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Gijinka Species: Charizard
Alliance: Fire Nation
Rank: Slave
Kin: Shin (brother)
Burnt orange hair. A skinny frame lined with lean muscle held in place by taught, well tanned skin that shows off every rib and contour of a once pristine body. Horrible scars mar the flesh in twisted waves and crisscrossing patterns: a vicious display of cruelty at the hands of those who view this specimen as being less than human. Often enough, he will be wrapped up in bandages under the ragged, fur-lined coat he tends to always wear. Altan is a master at appearances, his most famous of which being the facade that he is holding himself together. Under the grins, the jokes, and the lighthearted flirting, there is a dark, demented soul that struggles to wake every day and fights against the overwhelming urge to make an end of everything altogether. Being an older brother meant Altan had to grow up and take care of someone at a young age. His parents were barely making enough to get by. Altan went to bed starving many times, and he would often be the one up in the wee hours of the morning trying to comfort his little brother Shin. But finally, his parents could not take it any more. When Altan was eight and Shin was five, they were sold into slavery. After ten years, they were reunited, but it was not to last. They barely recognized each other. They are seldom ever seen together.

Nergüi
(mongol > nameless)
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Gijinka Species: Lugia
Alliance: Shadow Clan
Rank: Eyrie Lord
Kin:
Nergüi is a tall, slender boy. He has white hair that is kept short and alays has a wind-tossed look to it. His eyes are a piercing blue. His ears are framed by pointed horns that grow back against his skull and taper to sharp points. His pale skin is soft and unmarred for the most part save a disgusting myriad of scars on the right side of his face that spreads to his chest: a reminder of a very dark chapter in his life. He does not seem like much physically, and in truth, a horrible disease leaves him mostly bedridden and weak, but he has an inner strength that has to account for something. And what he cannot do with his muscle, he does with his mind. He is a fantastic strategist and tactician. his brains can match any man's brawn. It was what led him to his promotion in the Eyrie Court. He is not just the surviving child of a noble family's tragic fate. He is a Lord by birthright and merit, and he rules severely.
A lot of people describe Nergüi as selfish, lazy, and proud. A lot of them are right when they look at his aspects superficially and never bother to dig beneath. His selfishness comes from a constant view of impermanence, set by the sudden loss of his entire family. He wants things and he wants them to stay. He likes it when things are done his way simply because he is afraid that if he does not know what is being done or why or every little detail about it, then it will fall apart. His laziness is a disguise for his disease. It started as a simple gesture so that his poor nurse, a long time friend of the family, would not worry so much. And then it became a cover so any enemies of his would not guess his weakness. Then it was morphed by jealous men into a stigma that was designed to blemish him in the eyes of his people and his subordinates. How can his men possibly be expected to arrive punctually or get their jobs done on time if their own leader has such terrible tact and form? Nergüi fights his disease now to always be somewhere important in a timely fashion, nearly killing himself to preserve his image. Image is everything to a people who do not care about the heart. And his heart is proud. It is because he knows he achieved a great deal, and has to fight day by day to stay where he is. He is proud because every moment is a victory to him. Even every second he stands rather than sits at a meeting is a trophy to him. So yes, he is proud. He is proud because he accomplished something. He is proud in himself and in his country, for he is nothing short of patriotic. He will die happy for the sake of Shadow Clan.
