King Sagerron Renoux
Name: Sagerron Renoux
Age: 48
Kin: Feng Renoux (son), Raven Renoux (daughter), Edmund Renoux (son), Lief Renoux (son)
City-state: Lytane
Occupation: King
Looks: He has dark hair, nearly black, dark blue eyes and the characteristic sharp Renoux features. He is a large man, tall with wide shoulder and built with muscle from endless training and exercise. He may be nearing fifty, but his exercise regiment is just as strict as it was when he was twenty.
Personality: Sagerron is a strong man, physically and mentally. He is endlessly stubborn and obstinate: once he has made up his mind, it is nearly impossible to get him to change it. He sets high standards and comes down hard on those who do not uphold them. By some, he is thought to be too harsh of king, that he should be more merciful and forgiving. He does what he thinks is best for Lytane, but sometimes uses methods many disagree with. He is not a bad king: the city and its people are not neglected, he had kept the peace within the city walls and without, and many people admire him, but not all.
History: Sagerron was the second son of the king and queen of Lytane. His older brother was the heir to the throne. Both sons were taught and trained to be great leaders, and there was not often conflict between the two. Sagerron did want the throne, but not enough to wish anything bad to happen to his older brother and he didn’t begrudge him being born first. When Sagerron turned eighteen, his parents threw him a great party and hosted a jousting tournament. Both Sagerron and his brother competed in it, and eventually all the other participants were eliminated besides the two brothers, who were both formidable warriors. Sagerron rode well. He had perfect timing and placement and struck the winning blow, but instead of his lance knocking his brother off his horse, it pierced his brother’s armor. He died almost immediately. Sagerron was convicted of treason and murder, but he was as devastated as anyone. However, examination of the lance Sagerron had used proved that it hadn’t been made in Lytane, and Sagerron had not been to Valaire in many years. The true murderer was found to be Sagerron’s squire, who gave him the deadly sharp lance instead of the dull one he should have used. The boy ran, but once he was found, he confessed, but he would not say why he had wanted Sagerron’s brother dead. He was executed as per law, and that was the end of the matter. Sagerron became heir and then king.

Queen Amaranth Renoux
Name: Amaranth Renoux
Age: 46
Kin: Feng Renoux (son), Raven Renoux (daughter), Edmund Renoux (son), Lief Renoux (son)
City-state: Lytane
Occupation: Queen
Looks: She has light brown hair and blue-grey eyes. She is not a very tall woman, shorter than all three of her sons. She is not as slim as her daughter, curvier and just a bit plump, but she still has a lady’s grace. She is pretty in a soft, girlish way without the sharp features that are common among the Renoux.
Personality: Amaranth is an example people give their children when trying to teach them to behave properly. People who know her think it’s doubtful that ever in her life, she told a lie or stepped a toe out of line. She is softspoken and kind. She is the one whom the court goes to when it has questions concerning morality, and she is her husband’s closest advisor, though it may seem that she does not play a very large part in the politics of running Lytane.
Flair: She can tell by touching someone what it is that they most desire at that moment.
History: Amaranth was born a noble of Lytane. She knew from a young age that one day she would marry the prince and become his queen. Their marriage was arranged unusually early, as part of a business deal between her father, who owned a large amount of cropland to the south of the city, and the king. She met the prince just after she turned eighteen and was married less than a year later. Many simply expected her to become a trophy wife, but she and Sagerron grew close, and though when her children were small, much of her time was used to care for them, she began to take a larger role in government by advising her husband and sitting in on the meeting of the Small Council when she was able.

Guard Stabat Mater
![Picture](/uploads/1/4/5/9/14590338/8545089.jpg?383)
Name: Stabat Atoreus Mater
Age: 21
Kin: brother, unknown
City-State: Lytane
Occupation: Provost Guard
Looks: Smooth skin the color of cream and gold. Vicious red eyes ever so slightly slanted, hardly ever widening as he is seldom surprised. Full lips always curved in the slightest smiles save when circumstance calls for being grim. Overall, he has rather smooth facial features that bear the uncanny strength accustomed to wolves and big cats. He has lean, compact muscle, making him weigh more and lift more than is expected by mere appearance alone. His back is splayed with nasty, knotted, twisting scars, like a den of snakes. Those who see them and know of such mutilations know them to be made by a whip.
Personality: Typically good natured and overall positive. He is seldom sad or grim, and even if he was, he would not show it. He stays quiet, knowing it is better to observe than to take part if he is not needed or wanted. Seldom is he ever, which makes this a good phrase to live by in the long run. He seems to know more than he implies, and a lot of people tend to be wary of him for it.
Flair: Stabat has an extremely bizarre and permanent flair, though sometimes it may fade for very tiny periods of time. His flair is that he sees everything as an alternate reality. Where one might see a bird flying in the sky, he may see an enormous mass of wriggling tentacles on fire swimming through an ocean while he stands on a purple sky. Most of the time, he cannot explain what it is that he sees normally. Somehow he is able to function in reality even though his world is completely different. He functions by assigning people to what he sees and notes the changes made by his mind. The images also seem to be affected by what is around him, such as gut instinct or sound or mood, or even subliminal body language translated from reality into very obvious imagery in his head. He has been able to defer several assassinations and crimes thanks to his ability to see people's intentions. That is what is believed to be his flair. He has no idea that his reality is different from anyone else's, and they aren't aware either for the most part. Some have hazarded a guess, but usually brush it off. For he couldn't possibly be crazy.
History: A mystery. Something too painful for him to speak of. It is rumored he killed a lot of people.

Bard Jaehazerys East
![Picture](/uploads/1/4/5/9/14590338/6608573.jpg?414)
Name: Jaehazerys East
Age: 24
Kin: unknown, all dead
City-State: wanderer
Occupation: Bard
Looks: Soft, silky black hair that reaches his shoulders and even a little past that. His skin is fair, rather odd for a wanderer. And his eyes are a startling blue, blue as the sea.
Personality: Jaehazerys is rather kind, soft spoken, and gentle hearted. He takes great care of anyone he may find being in need.
Oddities:
Flair:
History: Jaehazerys' story begins in Valaire when he was only seven years old. His father led an army of vicious, bloodthirsty traitors against the city. The war raged for years, and when Jaehazerys was nine, his father and his men slaughtered the Quatumvrate and secured the city. Alas, his father was struck down, and in his final moments, named Jaehazerys as ruler of the city. Not even an hour after his father drew his last breath, Jaehazerys was placed on the throne and announced to all as King of Valaire. Jaehazerys became the person known as the King for a Day, even though his rule lasted nearly a week. He was mostly a puppet controlled by advisors and ruled as a figurehead, but when he stepped in, all had better obey him, or his right hand would make them obey. But a week after his ascension, a survivor of the Quatumvrate led the citizens to battle, and they quickly overthrew the palace. Jaehazerys was arrested and sent to die. He was drowned, stabbed, shot with arrows, whipped, and stoned, and somehow survived it all. His body was dug out from the rubble and marked as unknown to be buried in a mass grave, but he woke up and was taken in by the undertaker who also worked as a silversmith. He recovered and ran away before he was recognized. His life from then on is mostly unknown. He appears now as a bard named Jaehazerys East, his age and name change currently enough to leave people believing that the King for a Day is still dead.

Looks: His hair is the color of the palest ashes leftover from coals. His eyes are mismatched. The right is blind white but still sees. The other is a blood red and does not see. He always has a void expression on his face.
Personality: Meeud is quiet, like all Reave Priests, but he takes silence to a new level. He likes to be ignored and in the background. The more he is, the better he feels. He also hates physical contact.

Ravian "Ravi" Grimtock
Age: 7
Kin:
City-State: Lytane
Occupation: child/none
Looks: Ravian has short brown hair that is very straight. His eyes are a deep blue-gray. He has light skin with the occasional small scar here and there. He wears very plain, peasant clothes. As a street kid, he is often dirty.
Personality: Ravian is very passionate and quite temperamental. His impulsive nature can get him into trouble, even though his heart may be pure in its intentions. He is very observant and knowledgeable for a child his age, but it comes from studying and grasping the world around him. It's hard to follow any of Ravian's thought processes as he jumps from subject to subject very quickly.
Flair: If in danger, Ravian can turn all living things around him to stone, limited to a half mile radius at the most, but whatever directly touches him does not fall under this effect.
