Zeke Romulan :: Slave of _
((needs to be edited))
Zeke appears to be very fiery, contradictory to his watery home. His hair is a very beautiful shade of gold, almost like the actual metal of it if it were in semi-liquid form and without the harsh shine. But it gleams and flows and shines in the sunlight. It is soft to the touch, like fine silk or perhaps cashmere. He keeps it to his shoulders and it always gets so messy, what with all the swimming and lying on the beach or large rocks. It falls in his face sometimes or gets a bit too long, and then he cuts it with a knife or shark tooth. But then it continues looking good, complimenting his face and highlighting his eyes. The eyes are what people look at most; when they talk to others face to face, when they really want to see or know someone. Zeke has eyes that could be described as captivating in all their strangeness and desirable intrigue. Slightly narrowed, but vibrant and bright, full of life and his free spirit. As if he could conquer the world with just a look. It is not arrogance, simply his bliss. And his eyes, amber depths with rings of emerald, they show that spirit; wild and glimmering like the stars. Zeke is tall, not overly so. Just tall enough to seem impressive without appearing a giant. He reaches a good six foot one or two, longer with his tail, but then one is counting length and not height. Despite his appearance, he is strong. Perhaps one of the strongest. He is lean and very muscular, with solid limbs and a hardy torso. He is well tanned for having spent all his life on beaches and the water as well as in it where the sun is strong . It is almost a golden bronze color, like caramel. Just as soft looking and tantalizing to touch.
Zeke Romulus is a very strange sort of mer. Viscous, per his kind's tendencies, he does indeed bear the same blood thirst and hunger of the mer. However, he actually comes across as very friendly, open, and optimistic. Even his prey do not suspect his non tendencies, and his non-mer friends never really consider the notion he might harm them until it’s far too late. At first glance, thinking of him as a mer is the last thought on anyone's minds. He's far too kind, too gentle, too caring. He has a heart of gold and a willingness to do anything for anyone. His compassion and self-sacrifice leave hardly any room for dark intentions. Some may say he has a bubbly personality, minus the flamboyance. Nothing can seem to tear him down. Nothing can seem to uproot him from his happiness. It's true and false at the same time, depending on how you really look at him. Zeke is a very different person. He has many layers to himself and each one is more complex than the first the deeper down one goes. The core of himself has never been exposed, and probably never will. He is clever like that. He hates it when others know of what he is capable of. It makes him feel exposed and vulnerable. He would rather leave them guessing and struggling to wrap their minds around the whole that makes up Zeke than knowing exactly what to expect and ascertain. Zeke is never one to boast of his strong points. He keeps them as aces up his sleeve, pulling out knowledge and abilities whenever the time calls for them, and only then or when no one is around to witness. He is a very studious mer, in that, when most mer are more taken in with the marine life, state of the ocean, and movement of prey, he is wandering the coasts in human form, visiting libraries and schools and wandering the streets. Reading, watching, listening, learning. He is always thirsting for knowledge and trying to discover more about the entire world he is in, not just the waters where he was born. Oh yes, he loves his ocean home something fierce. He must always be near water, not just to live, but it is his one sense of security and happiness. But though the ocean contains billions of mysteries humankind cannot begin to grasp, he wants to know of the billions of things humans know and think and understand that those of his kind cannot hope to. Through all his travelling and observing, he has become a master of change. He cannot change what he really is, but he can change to adjust to the circumstances. He can easily adapt to any situation, take on any role, act any way that is necessary for the circumstances, making him a very formidable opponent and phenomenal ally, both in mind and body. But despite all these things, Zeke is very easy prey. One would not think so after hearing all that he excels in, but when the core of his flaws remains to be himself. One is ones own worst enemy after all. His flaws are in his inability to be human. He has no true moral restraints: stealing, lying, murdering; and not just for the sake of survival but for the sake of his own comforts when he goes wandering the wide world trying to take on the knowledge he desires. He has murdered hundreds throughout his life, more than was necessary outside of being a food source. He is far too overconfident in his own abilities, which results in his limits being breached and all his vain attempts crumbling around him without hope of reform or results. He does not understand why this happens as he neither tried to discover why or had anyone approach him on the subject. His overconfidence also gives him an immortal complex. He believes he cannot be harmed by others or will lose in a conquest for the simple reason that he thinks he can overpower anything that presents itself as a challenge. He can be called naïve and perhaps arrogant, but never proud. Never that. His sense of self-esteem is low enough to be crippling, and more often than not, it does. It cripples him and never lets up. He cannot recover from thoughts of self-loathing or loss of self worth, and they just build upon each other over and over again. One day it will come crashing in on him. He would never let anyone know this. Never. He can get very attached to people, and has a psychotic way of viewing relationships. He will be friends with one in a moment, but the next, they are his mortal enemy. Then again, a close friend. He turns and turns as a whirlpool. He becomes unpredictable and unrelenting. He loves nothing absolutely save one person. This love nullifies any chance of other relationships, before even making itself clear that the love is returned to him in the same manner. This complete immersion into an unrequited amore could surely be the end of him. The party receiving this affection perchance does not know of his feelings, and probably will not for the longest time, as he is hardly aware of how intense this feeling is. Some may perceive this as an obsessive infatuation, but it really and truly is love. It is a deeper and higher kind of love that Zeke himself is incapable of understanding. It is the sort of love that makes one feel fractured when the significant other is not with them. It is the sort of love that consumes their mind, body, and soul. Such is what Zeke feels and such is what is preventing him from finding such a love ever again. And to whom is this love for? Her name is Cleopatra Romanov, a mer much like him in form though not in mind, and infinitely magnified in beauty, so he perceives and so others have as well. But whereas the beauty he sees is both her inner and outer extravagance, others do not tend to know what he knows. Perhaps this love Zeke bears for her truly is enough to kill him, for it has already taken control of his very being.

Karim del Ardruo :: Cook
Karim del Ardruo is a very feminine boy with blonde hair, violet eyes, and a colorful taste in fashion. He's rather meticulous and likes things to be orderly. He is not tough by any stretch of the imagination, except perhaps emotionally. He can put up with a lot.
Karim was often mistaken for a girl. Now in recent years, he's cut his hair shorter. He doesn't like it when people call him girly even if he is.
Karim never knew his parents as he was kidnapped when he was a baby. He found out his parents weren't his real ones when he was about twelve, but he didn't have enough proof.
Karim ran away from home when he was thirteen and wandered for a few months before finally coming to (this city). He would steal food and avoided people where he could, but he was eventually caught and beaten for it when he stole from the wrong person. Someone who saw it stepped in and stopped Karim from being beaten to death. He took him in and taught him a lot. Karim didn't have to steal anymore.
He lived with the man, a talented artist, for a few years. It was during that time, Karim discovered his talent for art and cooking. He left his home to become a cook and is doing very well for himself.

AS KIDS: They stuck to themselves a lot. If they have any little siblings, maybe they tried to spend time with them, teaching them to fight and stuff because they felt bad for them because they didn't have a twin.
And in all their studies, academic and magical and in training as well, they were always competing with each other, but more to the end of getting better than being the best. If one learned something new, the other would congratulate them and then make them teach them how to do it. I'm thinking they were definitely more partial to each other than other fam members. Very curious twins who would always wander off a lot. They liked to go on secret adventures and play pretend with each other. At older ages like eight and nine, there would probably be some competition and conflict in their games. Probably less play pretend and more martial training (ie: fight each other with 'stick swords')
If their parents were the kind who didn't have a lot of time for the kids, ruling the country and all, then they would have a more formal relationship with them. They respected mom and dad and wanted to impress them, but wouldn't ever go to them if they had a problem. They'd go to each other first, of course, but if one of them had a problem, the other probably also had the same problem. They'd rather go to their teacher, and they would be the ones that their little sibling went to with problems. Probably would be the same with their siblings as well. More formal and composed. They felt less restrained around each other and could just be themselves. Potential for 'drama' and some conflict as they might be 'too' open with each other, ie: revealing secrets or inner thoughts that might disturb or bother the other. Oh, yeah. Maybe they made a pact when they were little to tell each other everything always, no matter how bad or strange. And then they start breaking the pact as they get older. Or not. Maybe they still are very trusting and open with one another.
CHANGE OVER YEARS: Well, the obvious stuff first. They god bonded, learned magic and fighting and politics and math. But also. they grew to learn about the other families and all the 'common people'. Given the Keahi's stance on stuff, they were probably tought that they were the better than the others. They may have grown colder towards people not their family and more distant. Or perhaps they grew more distant from their family because of their views. I'm thinking faye would grow to resent his family but not realize it. Resentment would probably stem from either mixed beliefs or other sorts of differing opinions. He wouldn't realize it as resentment though. He'd also become more bolder and a lot more 'tough and hard', rejecting anything he deemed as soft and weak. He isn't seen as cold though. Just very hardcore.
Sol would probably try to be very honorably, sort of trying to prove his family wrong, but again he might not fully realize why or what he's doing. He'd probably let Faye go along with Faye's hardcore, no weakness stuff, but he'd keep them honorable, or at least smart, and wouldn't let Faye in all his rough and toughness do something stupid. Faye would outwardly ignore and blow off his brother's talk of honor and things, but would actually adhere to what he says. never openly admit it. He has pride issues.
Yup. The Keahi's are all pretty proud. Sol too, I think. Faye would be able to get him to forget his honor and strategy and simply defend his pride if he worked at it, though generally he doesn't let his pride get in his way.
They all would slip from their codes of honor, I assume. Both their influences would effect the other. in times of higher emotional reactions or turmoil, they'd probably regress to more distressed and less 'put together' people.
Though they'd do their best to hide their distress from other people not each other, and they're at their best when they're working together and bouncing ideas off of each other and pooling their ideas and strategies.

Keahi Lands
Has an older sister named Asha (rped by Dawny)
Typically considered closed off and known to give people the cold-shoulder.
Hmm, so they're parents, or at least one of them, will have been a binder, and both knew they were gonna be binders too when thu grew up. His magic is mostly repressed. Both will have magic. Probably won't have bonds. The relationship between the two of them will be rather competitive. He hates his sister. And she likes messing with him, and he resents the fact that she's good at her job despite being a female, because it seems like the Keahi are pretty patriarchal

Not a bad guy but not a good guy either. Which is probably what will make him a decent [king] when he grows up. He prefers justice over mercy, but he is not incapable of the latter. He does take a while to come to decisions, but quick to jump at conclusions when stressed.
When people think of the word average, they think of him. Average intelligence, average attributes, average skills, average everything. It's like he grew up in average city in average land on planet average.
He has a rugged face often referred to as an 'ugly mug'. Definitely got the short end of the genetic stick when it comes to looks. It's not outright hideous, and the individual features are fine, but they just don't fit right when put together on his boxy face. His body physique is good though. he's muscular but more on the lean side in body with some bulk in the shoulders and arms.

Kylari Ardolcil :: Seeker Journeywoman
If you couldn't tell by looking at her, Kylari is a little on the risqué side. She loves to be 'loved' you could say.
Kylari is pretty much one of those people with low self esteem who tries to seek 'love' wherever she goes.
Kylari is rather smart and enjoys nature, which makes her job as a seeker all that much more easy. She doesn't care if she has to rough it out in awful weather or in terrible locations. She likes the feel of the wind on her skin and the heat of the sand against her back when she lies on the ground for a nap.
Kylari is long legged which makes her a bit on the tall side, standing at 5'11". She is strong but very lean. She's also kind of bony.
She is fast and very agile. Though she is strong, brute force is not her strong suit. Rather she tries to use one's strength against them.
She has a lot of scars because she seldom wears decent clothing. Probably the only point that could argue her intelligence.

She has a lot of scars because she seldom wears decent clothing. Probably the only point that could argue her intelligence.

Finvara Cirrius :: Baker by day, Spy by night
Finvara is muddled in the head. Or so everyone says. It's true that he has bizarre views on the way the world and society function, but that does not necessarily mean he is crazy. or maybe it does. He doesn't know.
Finvara is a baker most of the time and a spy the rest. He absolutely loves food. It's a wonder he hasn't gained a ton of weight. He is a little pudgy, but nothing ridiculous. His running about all night long keeps the fat burned off.
He certainly doesn't look cuddly. He has one of those faces that you like but are also wary of. Like a Rottweiller or something.

Tien Daxahn :: Wanderer
They call me a spiteful child, and perhaps it is true. Especially in the recent years of my young life, my thoughts were filled with spite. Most of my aggressions were aimed most harshly at my parents. Not too harsh, mind you. They deserved it. Oh trust me, they did. You are surprised that I care so little for my family, considering that in all likelihood they are dead, but it never really crossed my mind to care. I did when I was little, but it soon became apparent my older sister Isis was the favored one. They took special attention to her, trained her, divulged their secrets to her; and I was left in the background. Little old Tien: a soft, shallow little boy with a stupid girl's name. Now, I suppose I can find it somewhere in my heart to forgive my parents, and I have. You see, they are dead. To me at least. If they truly did survive the destruction of our small village, then so be it. But even if they breathe and their hearts beat, I will no longer think of them as my parents. Parents are people who love you and care for you. They ignored me. Forgot about me. I never pestered them much. Even in my youth I was aware of the responsibility they possessed and the burdens they bore, but every now and again I would go to them for just some small favor or just a fraction of a moment of their time. But they would shoo me away and tell me to go do this or that as they were far to busy or tired or needed to de-stress. They pushed me away, and I eventually learned to stay away. My sister though, she often gave me the time of day. She was busy as well, but she had the heart at least to find some moments for me. I didn't mind it entirely. The loneliness. Though I was away for so long from the warmth of my family, I was never entirely by myself. I had friends and tutors and relatives about. I played and learned and chatted. It wasn't loneliness I despised, it was a sort of solitude that I craved. My village was always bustling with some sort of activity, and so the forests became my refuge. I speak little of my family, but I will speak greatly of my home. That was where my heart truly lay. The mountains, the forests, the little rivers, the brooks, the endless blue sky: that was where I belonged. My parents always thought I was out playing with friends or going off to help some of our village members, but the road took me off and on to secret places only the wild really knew. I knew all the trails and secret paths and the best hiding spots. I watched the seasons come and go, watched green things sprout and brown ones die. I saw animals and plants that none of my friends had seen before. I even dragged a few home, only to have to release them to the wild because they were no where near tamable enough for our abode. I learned more from nature than I did from sitting and listening to a tutor. I loved to be unbound and free, and now, well, now I must resort to other things. I explore what I can and read books and practice what few talents I possess, but every day, the longing to go out and get lost tugs more urgently at my heart. Even though I am in the wild, I'm still trapped. I have to stay with Isis. It hurts to be trapped and unable to reach those untouchable parts of the world that whisper to be discovered. I want to be Tien Daxahn again, and not Linx Kisubo. Linx is a boy on the run. A child who clings to his older sister and requires hand holding and guiding and gentle things. I hate being him though I have no choice. He is me now. My identity that Isis gave to me for our days on the run. For all we know, the people that burned our village to the ground and slaughtered our people are still out there. Looking for us. So we changed our names and ran. We ran away. Wandering aimlessly. Looking for a new home. Isis says we will be safe then. Isis still thinks she needs to protect me, but I don't need her protection. I can look after myself. I can't prove it to my dead parents, but I'll prove to anyone else that I'm not weak anymore, that I can be useful and important too.
